Mindless is on Android!
Finally anyone with Android can become Mindless
If you have an Android phone, you've probably sent me some version of this message: "When is Mindless coming to Android?"
I've been answering "soon" for months. I'm done saying soon.
Mindless is live on Google Play right now.
Full transparency on why it took so long. The part of Mindless that scores your focus in real time and asks you what you want before you open an app is built on top of how each phone handles app access. Android does that completely differently from iPhone. We rebuilt that layer from scratch instead of shipping a watered-down version. I'd rather be late with the real thing than early with a demo.
So here's what you're actually getting.
Every feed on your phone is tuned by an algorithm whose only job is to keep you scrolling. It works by hitting your dopamine system with small, unpredictable rewards. Your brain is built to chase that pattern. Slot machines run on the same loop.
Blocking apps fight that loop with willpower. Willpower runs out by 9pm.
Mindless does one thing differently. Before you open an app, it asks: what do you want from this? That pause wakes up your prefrontal cortex, the part of your brain that makes decisions on purpose. Then it learns your patterns, scores your focus, and shows you exactly when your attention leaks.
Awareness beats restriction. That's the whole method, and it's now in your pocket.
If you're on iPhone, you know someone who's been waiting for this. Forward it to them.
Sam
P.S. Android was the most requested thing we've ever had. If there's something else you want Mindless to do, reply to this. I read every single one.
